Steve Cantwell injured, off of Saturday’s UFC 120 card in London

A highly unfortunate injury has scrapped one of the fights for Saturday's UFC 120 event in London, as UK based Fighter's Only reports that Steve Cantwell has suffered a knee injury and is out of his bout with Stanislav Nedkov. The injury occurred during a BJJ training session on Thursday, and though it's not clear exactly what happened, the result is a torn ligament for Cantwell. Because there is no time to complete the required medicals before fight time, the fight has been scrapped entirely. Cantwell was to compete for the first time since September of 2009, but this injury effectively ends any chance of that happening until 2011. Nedkov, meanwhile, was set to make his UFC debut in this bout. He will reportedly be paid his show money from the UFC with the last minute cancellation. Caught UFC 120 Free on Spike.
