Combat Cardio Tai Chi
“Fitness, Self-Defense, Health, and Spirituality”
Comabt Cardio Tai Chi is a new program that we are excited to offer at GROUNDGAME (Elkridge facility only). Combat Cardio Tai Chi is a blending of martial arts skill with concepts in fitness. It is an idea class for those interested in learning martial arts for self defense and fitness but don’t want to spar and/or risk getting injured.
Combat Cardio Tai Chi is a progressive program that is divided up into two skill levels. Each skill level addresses aspects of self defense, fitness, health and spirituality.
Level 1 Classes focus mostly on the basics of traditional martial arts & fitness with
stress on pugilistic techniques and self defense based on Kung Fu, and
an introduction to Tai Chi principles.
Level 2 Classes delves deeper into the stud of Tai Chi forms, Tai Chi self defense & Tai Chi fitness.
Self-defense – learn self-defense techniques based on Kung Fu & Krav Maga (TM). Level 2 Class adds self defense methods based
on Wudang/Tai Chi.
Fitness – Level 1 addresses fitness concepts similar to what we teach in our kickboxing fitness program. Tai Chi forms are also improved. Level 2 teaches fitness exercises based on Tai Chi and Kung Fu, that are a bit more complicated but set good patterns for establishing fitness longevity.
Health – Exercise is strenuous and the body and mind need rest accordingly. Learn how to relax and improve your internal energy (chi) via the Chi forms, Tai Chi meditation and Qigong.
Spirituality: develop spirituality via explore the mind/body connection, and
developing positive habits for everyday life through exercise and meditation. Conscious practice helps us to be mindful and helps us learn how to better react under stressful conditions.
